In 2024, the Blake Upper School A Cappella Choir & Chamber Orchestra were selected to perform at MMEA. As we envisioned what this concert could look like, we had this central idea of growth, transformation and homecoming. This final piece, #UnitedWeDream, is the final piece in Melissa Dunphy’s work titled “American DREAMers”.

As an immigrant, stories of resilience and homecoming mean so much to me. I appreciated the opportunity to talk with students about what it means to belong and what “home” means to all of us. This piece says it beautifully.
